Ziola is a launcher app that transforms any Android phone into a simple, safe environment. Once installed, it replaces the standard home screen with large icons, clear text, and a curated set of essential tools.

Ziola works on any Android phone running Android 9.0 or newer. It is not currently available for iPhone due to Apple's system restrictions on home screen replacements.

Ziola is designed so your loved one can manage everything themselves once it's installed — that's the whole point. Because of this, the initial installation needs to happen in person, directly on their phone. There's no separate remote-control panel, since none is needed: they'll find everything simple enough to handle on their own from day one. Activating a Pro license, however, can be done remotely — you'll just need the device ID shown in Settings, or your loved one can send it to you instantly with a single tap using the pre-filled SMS request built right into the app.

Not for daily use. Calling, texting, the camera, alarms, timer, calculator, notes and photos all work perfectly offline. A connection is only needed once, to activate the license, and for a few smart features like spam-call recognition, weather forecasts, the assistant, and voice dictation (only required for some languages). Once activated, the core experience stays fully usable without Wi-Fi or cell data.

No, never. The Assistant uses Google's Gemini API, which is completely free — you only need a regular Google account (like Gmail) to create a key, no credit card involved. Setting it up takes about a minute directly from Google, and you simply paste the key into your dashboard here.

To keep things simple and worry-free, Ziola limits Assistant use to 20 conversations per day, matching Google's own free daily limit exactly. This isn't a paid restriction — it's a safety net. Without it, once Google's free limit is reached, your loved one could see a confusing error message. Instead, Ziola simply pauses the Assistant gracefully until the next day, so they're never met with technical error messages they don't understand.

Yes, your Ziola Pro license is fully transferable. If your loved one gets a new phone, simply go to the Manage page, enter the details you received by email, and input the ID of the new device. The license is deactivated on the old phone and activated on the new one — no extra fees, no repurchasing. If a Gemini API key was saved, it's securely removed from the old device and transferred to the new one.

Only unknown, unsaved numbers are checked against a community-reported database of scam and telemarketing calls — your saved contacts are never sent anywhere. In the free plan, the phone still rings normally, but a large red warning card appears letting them know it's likely a scammer. In Pro, recognized spam calls are silently blocked before the phone ever rings.
